Cloudy and cool this morning, now the sun is trying to come out for the first time in two days.

Some of you guys may be interested in this -- Ric Burns (Ken Burns' brother) has made a Civil War documentary, this one based on Drew Gilpin Faust's This Republic of Suffering, about battlefield casualties during the war and how they changed American attitudes towards death. I am really looking forward to it -- Faust's book was just incredible, an absolutely essential read for anyone who appreciates good history and good writing. The documentary is on PBS tomorrow night.

Finished Liar & Spy and liked it, thought her previous When You Reach Me was a little better. About to start Michael Chabon's newest, Telegraph Avenue.

Fic coming this week. :-)
