Warm and steamy again. Early morning thunderstorms, which were nice while they lasted. Have picked two more Black Prince tomatoes and a number of cherry tomatoes. Short, staccato sentences punctuated her post like tiny bursts of machine-gun fire. She reread what she'd written and sighed.

Heh, we actually just watched Nik Wallenda cross over Niagara Falls on a tightrope. The part that really made me smile: the super-calm Canadian officials stamping his passport on the other side.

P.T. Barnum, where are you when we need you? Come away from that Fiji Mermaid and lead us to the egress!* :D


*At Barnum's American Museum in New York, he noticed that people were lingering too long at some of the exhibits. He posted signs indicating "This Way to the Egress." Not knowing that "Egress" was another word for "Exit," people followed the signs to what they assumed was a fascinating exhibit ... and ended up outside, on the street.
