Slept somewhat better last night; also Chango stayed in her den all night, but I don't know if it was because of the nightlight or because it was raining and thundering. Well, we'll see.
Saw the kites yesterday afternoon, and watched as one of them (the male?) sidled sideways along a branch to offer the other (the female?) something to eat. S/he accepted it, so I'm guessing they're a mated pair.
Started reading Jo Walton's Farthing, and it is proving to be right up my alley -- a murder mystery in a world in which Britain and Germany reached an accord in 1941, after peace negotiations advanced by Rudolf Hess. Nice worldbuilding by Walton, and I'm liking it much better than I did her Among Others.
