Friday, Now With 50% More Snow

Dog wanted out at about 1 a.m. and it was snowing lightly then. It snowed off and on throughout the night and finished up this morning with a heavier fall of big, beautiful flakes. So that's another couple of inches on top of what we already had. I told Mr. N I was sure that if we listened very carefully, we'd be able to hear Jerry Jones shaking his fist at the heavens and howling.*

Seed level in the feeder is down at least five inches. Birds this morning included a Purple Finch, a female cardinal, a downy woodpecker, some American Goldfinches, and a pretty Yellow-Rumped Warbler -- or, as GrrlScientist calls them, a butterbutt. :-D


*Jerry Jones is the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, and he was the main force behind bringing the Super Bowl to the Dallas/Fort Worth area (specifically, Arlington, Texas). I'm sure he didn't count on Mother Nature spoiling the party with the worst winter weather DFW has seen in decades. Heh.
