Friday, and Christmas
Dec. 25th, 2009 11:11 amAnd a white Christmas here, which is so far beyond the norm it's not even on the scale. There's about three inches of snow on the ground -- it'll melt today because the high is supposed to be in the low 40s, but the sun is out and it's just gorgeous.
Something else that's gorgeous is one of today's entries in
literaryquotes -- a lovely passage from Melville's Moby-Dick, along with a short vid of the Eugene (Oregon) Sacred Harp Singers performing the Isaac Watts hymn "There Is A Land of Pure Delight." It's a type of singing known as shaped note -- it's really lovely work, and you can find it here.
Oh, and took some snow photos -- will try and get them up today.
