Bright sun and cold (34 degrees). Got about 3 hours sleep last night, so brain, which never runs on all cylinders anyway, is particularly coggled up this morning.

And a news story from today's NY Times, under the cut. It's a fairly straightforward article about a shooting, worth reading for the side details about the tourists. The story is actually entitled "Police Shoot and Kill Man Outside Hotel in Times Square," but a more accurate title might be --

Thursday Night

Went to Barnes & Noble and picked up a couple of calendars and a few books. This is what I got:

A Gate at the Stairs, by Lorrie Moore

And I saw a Ruby-crowned Kinglet this morning. Mr. N is in the kitchen making pizza.
