Beautiful outside -- 72 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. There are titmice and chickadees on the feeders. Went out to throw a tennis ball for the dog and she somehow got a down-feather stuck to her ear. Need to drop off a couple of bills at the post office, not sure what else.

Last night's Bones was ... wow. I know they seem to revel sometimes in being one of the ickier shows on TV, but sheesh, did they get a new props guy for this season? Someone who felt he/she had to pull out all the stops in just the second episode? Yikes. Also, the writers seem to be skating awfully close sometimes to making Dr. Brennan really bitchy. And Sweets has been there how long now? The "new kid who's not really a scientist" thing is getting old. Eh, I thought it was a disappointing episode.

Okay, mini-rant over. Have a story about a chimera apple.

Oh, and a reminder that Hugh Laurie is on the new Jay Leno show tonight -- 9 p.m. Central, NBC. There. Done.
