Sunny and wet outside because husband ran the sprinklers this morning. Saw a squirrel in the pear tree -- he was shaking the branches so that sprinkler-water went showering everywhere.

New resolution to stop staying up so late. Not good for me and it makes me a bear in the mornings. Of course, I'm usually a bear in the mornings, but this is much worse.

Probably going to read Slavery by Another Name next, which is a scholarly, depressing book. But that's how I roll. Heh. Not sure what else today -- month-end writing roundup coming soon. And coffee.

So I'm paging through some of the Sunday ads, and there's one from our local World Market, which is actually a very nice store that carries good wine and spices and packaged food and cheap worthless trinkets interesting stuff from around the world ... and I see this:

A play parachute, on page 2 of the virtual ad

"Keep kids entertained for hours!" Nine and half feet in diameter! Ages 5 and up! Parachute comes in a drawstring bag for storage! And look, it's even got hand-straps around the edges!

Where a KID COULD TIE STRINGS TO IT, AND THEN JUMP OFF THE ROOF. Because. It's a PARACHUTE.

Oy.
