Used the leftover spaghetti sauce (ground beef) to make homemade pizza. The pepperoni we'd had in the fridge was a little funky, so Mr. N diced up some luncheon-meat salami, which pretty much disappeared once baked. Also put onion, green bell, chopped Kalamatas, and shredded mozzarella on it. It turned out very nice.
Read 143 pages of Annie Dillard's The Maytrees. It's only 215 pages so I'm quite a ways through. Beautiful story -- love and loss and how people fall in and out of love with each other, and how sometimes both (love and loss) are tragically one-sided. Annie Dillard never ceases to amaze me. She's got such a wonderfully quirky, personal style, and here she lays out one image early in the book and then circles around and circles around, until about 90 pages later, she comes back to it, and the doubled effect is so much greater.
So. More later, maybe.
