nightdog_barks: Can of Maryland Club ground coffee (Coffee)
Cloudy and sprinkly -- I don't think any kind of cold front has come through yet because it's still fairly warm outside (Weather Channel says it's 63 but it feels warmer).

Dreamed about a Housefic I haven't written. One scene involved Wilson falling through the roof of a chicken coop (WTF, brain?) and having one of my First Readers tell me how funny it was, and me saying "Yes, that was the first scene that came to me and I just wrote everything else around it."

... what the hell? When I finally woke completely up, I had to lie there and think, Wait, did I ever write anything involving a chicken coop?

Need to run to the store today for a few things. First, coffee. And no chicken coops.

ETA: Proof that some folks take their football loyalties way too seriously.

Still very overcast and sprinkly, which is overall a nice change. Went to grocery store, hoping a little that they'd gone ahead and set Stephen King's new book of short stories out instead of waiting for tomorrow, but no such luck.

Started reading Agent Zigzag yesterday and am really enjoying it so far. It's the true story of a bad guy -- a British thief who specialized in safecracking, in jail on the isle of Jersey, who decided to try and better the odds for himself by offering to spy for the Germans. Who took him up on it. Only then our "bad guy" (Eddie Chapman) had second thoughts. I've read 60 pages and keep thinking (a) someone needs to make a movie out of this, and (b) they need to get Hugh Laurie to play this part. Heh.

And via BoingBoing, a fascinating post on a rare books auction that includes some antique medical equipment. Some more details and an image below the cut.
