Much cooler and breezy. Took a Vicodin last night (have not been taking them every night) and slept. God bless Abbott Labs, or whoever invented/discovered the damn stuff.

Not sure what's on the agenda today -- want to finish Duma Key, maybe poke at some other ficly stuff. Tomorrow morning get to go to the doctor again for my annual fasting bloodwork. Oh boy.

Finished Duma Key and really enjoyed it. I think the first book I ever read of his was 'Salem's Lot, back when I was in college. It's amazing how he can still spin a story. Not his very best work -- I'm afraid I didn't care that much about Edgar, and although I guess I know why a certain plot device had lost its power at the end, I wish King had confirmed that. A very big deal is made about it and then it just gets dropped, and I found myself saying, "Well, okay, but what about ... "

Oh well. Now I get to choose something else to read, which is good. Also watched a really interesting segment on 60 Minutes tonight about the national youth orchestra of Venezuela, which has piqued my interest in writing something about Wilson learning to play an instrument.

In other news, I'm so tired. Valacyclovir, Valtrex fatigue is thy name.
