Sunny and much cooler -- we're supposed to have a couple of light freezes this weekend but that hasn't stopped the useless Bradford pears in the neighborhood from starting to blossom. Also we have a winner in the New Seedlings Category, and it's SPINACH. Yep, tiny little stems of Bloomsdale Long-Standing spinach uncurling from the potting soil. No signs of any of the peppers yet. :D
Started reading Joshua Ferris' Then We Came to the End and am liking it, although I'll be the first to admit it's hard keeping some of the characters straight.
Really liked both Person of Interest and Elementary last night. Cutting for spoilers ...
I know that on Tumblr some folks were saying they didn't care for it because not enough Reese and Finch, but I loved it. I thought it was a Big Daring Chance TPTB took, and I thought they pulled it off beautifully. It was so interesting to me to see the Mirror World Version, as it were, of Finch and Reese -- the other people who get the numbers from the Machine.
Loved seeing Root again! I know, I know, she'sa total psychopath crazy, but she's crazy like a fox and I think Amy Acker does a fantastic job with her.
And BEAR! :D
So anyway. Really, really liked it. And how much love for the fact that the phone number Finch gave to Shaw at the end led to A REAL NUMBER WITH A MESSAGE. Good for you, writers and producers. All the points.
It's a BEE IN A BOX. :D
What else can I say? Was totally startled at the driver Crabtree getting offed like that. Enjoyed Sherlock's lessons in deduction, although by the third or fourth "You're the detective; you figure it out," I probably would have punched his lights out. I loved the lady playing the Polish dry cleaner -- she had such ATTITUDE. Also loved the hat-tip to canon with the character named Musgrave.
It took me a minute to realize where I'd seen Infected Zillionaire before -- Dennis Boutsikaris was the father of the boyfriend in the House episode "Black Hole" (the one where Wilson was trying to decorate the condo and House kept sending everything back).
I have to admit I missed a lot of the second half -- I was tired and drinking red wine. But I am still super-happy with this show. :D
Also, Mister Nightdog just looked at the seeds, and the Thai basil has sprouted. It wasn't there this morning. But no peppers yet.
