33rd consecutive day of 100+ temperatures. 103 now, yesterday the high was 110 (43.3 degrees Celsius). Was just outside -- very still and steamy, ugh. Yesterday evening watered all the deck plants; Chango helped as best she could by trying to steal the hose from my hand. *g* Needless to say she ended up very wet but also very happy. Later there was a cottontail in our backyard -- this morning, doves, a squirrel, and a blue jay. The last week of July/first week of August are traditionally the hottest of the year, so perhaps there is hope yet.

Post title comes from an interesting History Blog article on the wee monsters in city tap water. :-)
