It's not in him to be content, and I think Cuddy needs someone who can be content. Rachel will need someone who can be content. And House is never going to be, and perhaps when he realizes that, he'll get all Noble!House like he did with Stacy and he'll end it. Not because he doesn't love Cuddy, but ironically because he does.
