Bright sun but much cooler after a cold front came through yesterday. 54 degrees (12.2 degrees Celsius), a light breeze out of the east northeast.
Thought this was hilarious -- Minnesota graffiti artist protects Titian's 'Venus' from the freezing temps. Hee.

Date: 2011-02-22 07:06 pm (UTC)I've had some good news: a client I thought had flaked out, emailed me this morning and said she's ready to schedule the (small, but very helpful bill-paying-wise) job.
Foot is doing better, and has a fascinating pattern of bruises developing on the sole, of all things; laundry must get done, ibuprofen taken, and then I must trek back home for a few hours for work reasons.
I was blessed with assistance in digging out the truck. A fellow named Tim stopped when he saw me and pulled the Snowblower of Awesomeness out of his van (yes, I had a moment of worry that he might try to pull me into his van instead, but it turned out I was not in a movie plot after all).

Nor a Nightdog story!

Date: 2011-02-22 07:29 pm (UTC)Yes, but other people do sometimes get hurt in those. And this is the Land of the Coen Brothers, you know, so one can't be too careful.
It did look like the kind of van you'd see in one of those stories. 90s era if not 80s, big, nondescript grungy maroon thing outta Detroit, with no windows in the back, and a rusty set of roof-rack bars on top. You could easily imagine it on CSI as the perp's Do Bad Things-Mobile.

Date: 2011-02-22 09:29 pm (UTC)Been insanely busy at work today, but Jeannie brought her dog with her and that was fun. He's a big gray merle-sable collie with one blue eye, and is just the sweetest fellow.

Date: 2011-02-22 11:59 pm (UTC)Just got back from running a couple of errands -- it clouded up as the day went on, and I think we have a good chance of rain on Thursday.
Oh, the dog sounds gorgeous!

Date: 2011-02-23 02:03 am (UTC)We went this evening to the volunteer banquet that was rescheduled when it snowed in January. I came home hungry because all they served were meats, sweets, and one skimpy raw veggie tray, but the kid got a really nice letter of commendation and Corgiguy won a Starbucks gift bag as a door prize, so we had a good time.

Date: 2011-02-23 02:37 am (UTC)Okay, it's great that the museum staff are amused instead of offended. It is. I wonder what the artist's real motivation was.

Date: 2011-02-23 03:25 am (UTC)I wondered a bit about that myself! But I'm thinking if the museum people were enough at ease to make that painting the "face" of the exhibit, it's less likely the graffiti guy the motivated by ZOMG BOOBIES. At least, that's the way I'm choosing to look at it.
I can say that bare boobies, even if they were from a golden age of painting, would never fly here. :-(
