Goodbye, March

Green and beautiful outside. The two peppers I bought have flowers on them, the Meyer lemon tree is covered in blooms, the Johnny-jump-ups are still flowering, and the French lavender is about to bloom. Still need to put some flowers up front -- I want to put in perwinkles (Cora vinca) again, but this early in the season, nobody around here has them yet.

Currently reading Aleksandar Hemon's The Lazarus Project, which is about a writer and his friend traveling to Eastern Europe, retracing the trail of a young immigrant who was killed in Chicago in 1908. I think it is a very good read, but it is certainly not a happy book by any means.

Sounds wonderfully springy! Yesterday we had -15 and several centimeters of snow. :D

Aww, we always say around here, it's not really spring until after the May long weekend blizzard (Victoria Day). It's when everyone erroneously believes it's safe to start going camping for the season. Every year!

Last I heard, here in the Twin Cities it’s supposed to fall to minus 13 Fahrenheit overnight tonight. We got a few inches of snow last night. Easter Bunny is freezing his fluffy little tail off.
