(OTOH, on the CBC feed we did get this priceless exchange: Ron Maclean: We've received word that Horton can move his limbs. Don Cherry: Yes, and he can move his hands and feet too. He was serious.)
I'm not sure who was doing the game-calling on Versus (it was the same guys who were calling it on ABC), but at one point there were fights going on all over the ice and they broke away for a commercial, but not before one of the announcers said "Ah, boys will be boys." *g*
And it posted before I'd finished my reply - bad Dreamwidth. Stop logging me out!
We were certainly schooled - shades of game 4 in Chicago, but that's all right. We needed a shot of realism. And better that they fall apart in game three rather than game seven. And if it had been anyone other than the Canucks (or another Canadian team), I would have been relishing the Boston performance.
Even with the final score, it was still such an incredibly EXCITING game! I don't know why, but it felt more like a 3 - 2 game, or 4 - 2, instead of 8 - 1.
I thought the first period was fantastic - but the last seven minutes of the game were too painful for me to watch :)
But all kudos to the Bruins - they absolutely took control of the game, and Thomas was just amazing. And, it was a great experience watching it on the big screen set up on Georgia Street. I'll post a picture once the sting has faded a bit!
Yeah, those last seven minutes were pretty insane. *g*
I have to admit it was funny seeing these huge guys on both sides wagging their index fingers in each others' faces because of that (apparent) biting thing in Game 1.
Oh, he bit him all right, but seriously, if somebody stuck their (gloved) finger in my mouth, I'd probably bite down as well - I'd be ashamed of it later, which I hope Burrows is, but it's not like you're going to hurt someone biting a hockey glove!

The Canucks will bounce back; I KNOW they will.

Yep, I know the Canucks will bounce back -- they are way too good not to. :-D
