Tuesday

Overcast, warm and humid. 85 degrees (29.4 Celsius). Read the first chapter of Olive Kitteridge last night and really enjoyed it.

Need to run a couple of errands. Refilled the bird dish, blue jays have been coming to drink and take splashing baths in it. On the other hand, some marauding bastard squirrel has managed to knock down the small bird feeder. Also need to update [livejournal.com profile] nightdog_writes. I've been neglecting it ...

Eh, more later.

I hope it stays overcast. Really too hot for camping, but I have to get out of here before I start saying things I shouldn't :)

Heh. There's rain way west of here, but I don't think we're supposed to get any.

... but I have to get out of here before I start saying things I shouldn't :)

Yep, you don't wanna do that. No matter how tempting. ;-D

HI NIGHTDOG HI!

I am working today, and there's a thunderstorm approaching outside my window, and I had a cheezeburger for lunch, and I wave my fist at your squirrels (and mine) *waves*, and now I'm going back to work. :)

HI PERSPI! ARE YOUR SQUIRRELS EVIL LIKE OURS ARE???

Heh. It feels like we could have a thunderstorm here, but the Magic 8-ball weather guys say no.

I am disappointed in this storm. It was all black-cloudy on the horizon, and then it got here and it's not even very dark, and I saw one measly flash of lightning and there's been, like, THREE drops of rain on my window. *sigh* I didn't water the flowers on the deck today, because I was promised rain.

Oh, man, that is disappointing. You should sue.

TOTALLY. It did rain a little, but, like, barely. PBBBBPTH.

And yes, our squirrels are ebil, too. They hang off the pergola and chew on my birdfeeders--they have managed to distort the METAL CHAIN of the feeders...

I just found a local restaurant that looks like it'd be a nice place to eat sometime this weekend. It's called "Calli's." One letter off..

One letter off.

Not necessarily. Depends which dialect of Standard you're speaking.

87 degrees F with 56% humidity here in sunny FL. Not too bad today.

As for squirrels: my mister took the BB rifle to work today to use on some squirrels that keep getting into things at work. I wonder how that will go over. The boss likely won't care.

To clarify: the mister said something about popping said squirrels in the rear-end to discourage their return. Ha! We'll see how that works out for him. *g*

Don't think I haven't considered going down to Super Target and buying a BB gun. The little bastards are fearless. Heh -- maybe I should get one of those super-soaker guns and spray the hell out of them.

Will save it for later. Right now I have a free account with a mere 15 icons. When I can get more I will use it then. For now it will be cool on MySpace. Thanks.

HI NIGHTDOG HI!

One of Corgiguy's neighbors when he was growing up was an old lady who was arrested for shooting squirrels in her yard. So she got a slingshot and developed dead-eye aim. Killed the bastards and the cops never knew. :D

We are still having a great time. Went today to walk on the beach and to the lighthouse and Spanish fort, and found another great second-hand bookstore. This is mainly how we spend vacations: walk a lot, find bookstores, go see things. It's very relaxing.

HI CORGIGIRL!!!!

Hee, you sound like Perspi.

Yeah, that's the thing -- I seriously doubt it's legal to shoot firearms in our neighborhood (even though I've heard gunshots a few times on holidays). So I should get something like a slingshot or a super-soaker or even just the hose. *g*

YOUR VACATION SOUNDS AWESOME. And that's what we do on vacations, too. I remember going to City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco and some beautiful old bookstore in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

That's the beauty of BB guns...you can't hear them outside your own yard. Daily neighborhood noise masks the sound. *ebil grin*
