Well, that's different. It's overcast and 82 right now, with a predicted high of 92. Yes, please, and thank you. Of course it's supposed to be 98 tomorrow and 100 over the weekend, but it's not that steady, consecutive string of 100+ temps we've been having, and that is such a relief.

Not sure what's on the agenda today besides staying home. Maybe I can write a little (I hope) -- at the least I can start on my new book. Have decided to forego the fiction for the moment and read Rick Atkinson's Day of Battle, which is about the battles for Sicily and Italy in WWII.

And so it goes, with coffee.

Yah! for a cooler day and the possibility of rain.

I'm eating lunch (chicken-rice soup, canteloupe, iced tea) with one hand and typing with the other. Have abandoned all hope of getting out of work on time today, though.

Mmmmm ... that sounds like a good lunch! And yeah, it just feels so much better outside -- the contrast between 87 (which is what it is right now) and 98 (which is probably what it was at this time yesterday) is amazing.
