Hello, February!
You feel ... a lot like early spring! Cool but not cold outside, and omg so damp. Humidity is 83%, with a breeze out of the south. Lots of birds in the backyard, including two white-winged doves who appear to be eating the corn kernels the squirrels drop onto the ground. Just wish the sun would come out.
Currently reading Dan Simmons' The Terror, and so far (about seventy pages in) I am really liking it.

...
I have had The Terror on my bedside table for MONTHS. I keep pecking at it, but the date changes and character POVs are killing me. It doesn't help that I'm a slow reader these days, and if I put that thing down for a week, I'm lost. I so want to like this -- it's right up my alley. :(

Oh Sils, I know what you mean. At least twice now I've had to quickly flip back to the previous chapter to double-check the ... what should I call it? The time range? Checking to see that if this is happening, then those guys aren't DEAD YET. And it's so weird to see the names of characters and you know they're going to die. But I kind of like it? I don't know -- I do think the thing that helps me is that it's the only book I'm reading right now, and I just power through three or four chapters every night. ♥ ♥ ♥

I guess I'm just gonna have to power through. And I *am* reading multiples (The Essex Serpent, and the first book in the graphic novel series Fables). I think I'll finish "Serpent" first, because so far I'm moving through it at a good clip. But, dang it, I am *going* to finish that behemoth. ;p
