Dear Reader, it started raining this morning at 5 a.m. "Oh, good," I thought. "At least it's not 6 a.m., when Mister N takes Layla for her walk!"

5:15: raining
5:30: raining
5:45: still raining
6 a.m.: Pouring. Down. Buckets.

It rained HARD for about an hour and a half, straight through. Everything is DRENCHED. It's still drizzly. Send ark-builders.

I don't understand what's weird. Usually if it rains, i t rains for much more than an hour and a half.

I know, right? The weird thing was, when it rains here, the period of really hard rain usually lasts anywhere from 5 to 10 to maybe 15 minutes. Like, rain rain rain HARD RAIN rain rain. But this rainstorm was a hard rain the entire time. Over an hour of pouring down, flash-flood-producing hard rain. It finally trailed off like someone had turned off the Giant Sky Faucet, but for the time it was raining, it was like buckets.

Are you in a desert or something? That sounds pretty normal, if not maybe for this time of year.

North Central Texas, the general Dallas/Fort Worth area. Not a desert, but a dryer than usual summer, so perhaps that's why it felt unusually heavy for such a length of time. :-)
