I was lucky enough to meet him, once. He was a force of nature, and as many others have said, if there's any chance this leads to some destignamtization of mental health, then that's the best we can take.
Shocking and so sad. I found out on my Twitter feed, and about an hour later the newsfeed did post a link to a suicide prevention service. ETA I've been trying to figure out what my favourite of his films is - there are many I haven't seen - and think it's The Fisher King.
It's been a million years for me too, I just remember I liked it. I also liked What Dreams May Come and Awakenings. (I liked Good Will Hunting too but somehow don't think of it as a Robin Williams film, probably because he wasn't the lead.) (ponders) Those and Mrs Doubtfire are all of his films I've seen, but those are most of them I think. We've lost some great ones this year, haven't we?

I may be one of about six people in the world who really likes What Dreams May Come, but oh well. *g* He was also really good in Awakenings.
