"Got the Radio On"

Started seeds for fall tomatoes -- Belgian Giant and Arkansas Traveler. We'll see what happens; I was only going to plant a few, but Mr. Nightdog said no, err on the side of caution. So if we end up with ten plants I'm blaming him.

Also, making a peach pie because we can.

Also also, go read alternatealto's new story, Scenic View. House, Wilson, after the series finale. Fun, sweet, tender, and all-around lovely.

You can't overdo tomatoes. If nothing else, if you want to make spaghetti sauce with them, you have to start with a lot of them. A while back, I had a friend who was desperate to get rid of all their excess -- I tried to explain that if she made sauce out of them, she'd use a lot of them and it would be a million times better than that jarred stuff. When it came to telling her this, I failed... but a huge bag of fresh tomatoes is a hell of a consolation prize.

And I haven't thought about Furs in years, but I suddenly miss them.

Heh, the only reason I'm concerned that we might get 10 plants is that then we'd have to buy some more pots and potting soil. But you're right -- YOU CAN'T OVERDO FRESH TOMATOES. :D

Oh man, A Word Outside is an awesome song. I was listening to them and to The Smithereens the other night and thinking "Why did these groups not become bigger hits than they were?" IDK.

As long as we're both getting bits of the eighties stuck in our heads, have some Flesh for Lulu. (I tried to find the song "Avenue" from Plastic Fantastic, but YouTube apparently doesn't have it.) I think none of the bands made it because for the most part, they were just guys... and MTV was starting to reward pretty people with bland songs.

(That doesn't explain Def Leppard, who had half a dozen hit singles on Hysteria... but they had help from Mutt Lange, which is German for "Desmond Child." So yes, my current theory needs work.)

And I have things I need to do, so I'd better get away from my computer before I end up spending two hours looking for Sisters of Mercy songs.
