Saturday and a Fic Rec

Saw this this morning on a friend's Tumblr and wondered if it was real. Apparently it is. Kudos, Ray-Ban.

Warm and steamy outside; watered all the deck plants and Chango helped by playing Catch the Water from the Hose. Heh.

The fic rec is for Ningyo, by yarroway. I read this late last night, and it is simply marvelous, full of light and shadow and mythos, with the most understated and graceful touch of magical realism I've seen since ... well, since nieded's great Asphyxiation. This is a gorgeous story. I haven't been able to get into LJ at all so far today, so when it reappears I'll add the link(s).

That picture gives me happy feels every time I see it. I feel a little dirty for liking an advertising image so much, but just... the faces in the crowd, the half-defiant smile on the skinnier guy's face! I love it so much. Never hide, indeed.

Toby does that catch the water thing! If you turn on a garden tap he snaps at the stream of water.
