Still sunny, still (too) warm for the season. 89 degrees, 31.7 Celsius. Mr. (or Ms.) Opossum was in the backyard again last night, snuffling around under the bird feeders. Chango was mightily roused, and huffed and puffed and growled and snarled at the intruder. I wouldn't let her out, and after another moment the possum used a nearby tree as a ladder and trotted away along the fenceline.

Laundry day, etc. Have been spending the morning paging through some of the photo galleries in Art Daily -- a particularly nice shot of a sea bird is

We've been to the feed store to buy pet food and dog vitamins. Other than that, we've been lazy people today.

I'm going to start laundry soon, right after the football game. The Cowboys are LOSING and I am laughing. The owner of the team is a horse's patoot. A ... monumentally rich horse's patoot. *g*

Miss V. and I went swimming this afternoon for probably the last time of the summer. The sunshine was so nice, but the water was freaking cold!

Well, and he built this GIGANTIC NEW STADIUM in Arlington, and the Super Bowl is being held in Dallas next year and the team was talking about how they were going to be in it ... and now they're 0 - 2, and karma is such a bitch. HA!

Swimming sounds nice, and I'll bet the water would be warm enough here. ;-)

I need to put clothes in the dryer and put the next load in the washer, but I'm giggling because the ficlet from last night gave me what sounds for all the world like a Raymond Carver title.
