Sunday

Still sunny, still (too) warm for the season. 89 degrees, 31.7 Celsius. Mr. (or Ms.) Opossum was in the backyard again last night, snuffling around under the bird feeders. Chango was mightily roused, and huffed and puffed and growled and snarled at the intruder. I wouldn't let her out, and after another moment the possum used a nearby tree as a ladder and trotted away along the fenceline.

Laundry day, etc. Have been spending the morning paging through some of the photo galleries in Art Daily -- a particularly nice shot of a sea bird is

It's 8'C here and we're worried about our instruments freezing at one of our installations, because it drops below 0'C at night. I like that photo, the bird looks like it's mentally telling off the photographer who snuck up behind it.
I have housecleaning to do, yawn. I've had a slow start to the day but should get to it. This week is going to be very busy at work.

Hi Nightdog hello!

We've had a pretty good morning here--kind of a slow Sunday, really, but the Mr went on a cleaning spree and Z and I played, and now she is napping and I'm online. Later Z and I will have an excursion to a quilt shop that is actually open (we tried yesterday, but the shop here in our town was closed!).

And I made a batch of applesauce. :)

And now the Mr is beginning the wake-up process, and I posted my very first DW poll! :)

...although I know it's a slow internet day since nobody's answered it, yet. Heh.

I'm having a lazy weekend reading alllll the [community profile] femslash10 stories. They were posted two weeks ago but only now do I have a chance to curl up on the couch with some unhealthy snacks and give feedback on each one.

I'm definitely enjoying being lazy! I should be posting a recs list tomorrow or the next day, once I've been through them all! The masterlist is here, if you like.

That's a very wry birdie expression. :)

We've been to the feed store to buy pet food and dog vitamins. Other than that, we've been lazy people today.

Money does not protect one from a good ass-kicking. :D

Miss V. and I went swimming this afternoon for probably the last time of the summer. The sunshine was so nice, but the water was freaking cold!

Karma is indeed a bitch, and she's so amusing when she sinks her teeth into the super-rich. :D

I saw that title, and it's just perfect.

I'm still a bit wrung-out from frustration and a mild fight I had a while ago, and trying to get better from that. Also thinking about substituting lima beans for cannellini in a minestrone soup.

That is an *awesome* shot. The perspective is amazing. I also have a question -- I was giving the LJ f-list a quick go over (distracting myself in between running errands to be ready to head out at an Obscenely Early Hour tomorrow) when I saw a shot fic by yourself. I went to comment, and couldn't. Seems I'm not on the DW filter, but I am on the LJ one. Problem is, I won't comment there. It's not a big deal, just thought you should know that things aren't quite sorted... and I liked the story, but would pick a little at your initial sentence structure. (Making it two sentences instead of one.)

Now I suppose I should get some work done, but I feel like malingering instead. :P
