Sunday

Hazy sun, warm, 86 degrees (30 degrees Celsius). Mr. N is engaged in a lot of paper-shuffling because he's going to Miami tomorrow evening for a couple of days. My thumb and wrist feel a lot better (although they're still sore). This is another weird thing about all this -- whatever hurts will hurt ferociously for about a day and then ... just go away.

Not much going on yet, so have an absolutely amazing nature photo. It's from the Telegraph and is totally work-safe -- it's a confrontation between a jackal and a vulture, and was taken at Giant's Castle Nature Reserve in Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.

The jackal's Mom needed to tell him not to ever screw around with creatures that have giant beaks and can stage aerial assaults. :D

It's a hot day here but really nice -- very clear and sunny. Miss V. and I may go swimming later this afternoon. The water will be cold, but it'll be good for my banged-up knee.

YAY, SWIMMING! That sounds delightful. :)

I love to swim. It's the only athletic endeavor I'm halfway decent at.

The Telegraph always has amazing nature slideshows! :-D

Swimming sounds wonderful! And I agree, I think it would be excellent for your knee.

I also like the Photo of the Day at The Christian Science Monitor. Those are a slideshow and usually have some amazing stuff.

Here's hoping Mr. N. will have a smooth trip and be back soon. *crosses fingers*
