Saturday
The sound of bandsaws in the morning is just so pleasant. It makes Chango squinch her ears close to her head. Cloudy, still very damp, 66 degrees (18.8 Celsius).
Not sure yet what is on the agenda for today, but,
Here are some of the places I've been:

visited 28 states (56%)

But wait, there's more!

If anyone wants to see the other international countries I've visited (I don't know why you would, but anyway), there's a map on my profile page.

and talk about the weather ...
We love Tears for Fears. *g*
I have just now been pulling up some carpet and have taken out one of the (soaking wet) pad sections. I was childishly delighted with myself for remembering we still had some old puppy housebreaking pads in the closet, so I took those out and put some down to soak up the water. Ew and yuck.

That's very clever about the puppy pads. We had a similar problem at our old house with water from the carport flooding part of the living room. The kid was wee then, and we took a bag of disposable diapers and put them opened all over the floor and walked on them to soak up the water. It looked weird, but it worked great.
After several hours of some serious number-crunching and reality checks, we have come to the conclusion that the kind of car Corgiguy wants is just too expensive. Since we both have old cars, the new plan is to replace mine with a Honda Fit, which he'll drive to work on the days when I don't. We'll keep the Toyota, which has almost no trade-in value but is insanely cheap to insure, and sharing the new car will take some of the wear and tear off the old one.

I've seen some Honda Fits around here -- they're cool-looking cars. I've been really happy with my Honda CR-V, and Mr. N drives an Accord.

It was the only car I test drove, which was mainly done as a lark, but it turned out to be a much better car than the Civic he drove. He was interested in a VW diesel Jetta (miles too expensive, but a great car) and a very fancy Hundai Sonata. But the Hunai was so large that my chin came up to the bottom of the window, so there's no way I could have ever safely driven it.
