Whiny Nightdog and An Icon

Argh, my sinuses are aching, especially on the right side of my jaw. Need to take some ibuprofen. And drink more red wine. Okay, not necessarily in that order.

Here's an icon for whomever wants it. I created it using the El Jay Icon Maker; the original is here. It's entitled Sudanese Woman and is by an artist named Madeleine Bunoust (1885-1974). I thought it was really striking, and that perhaps one or more of you guys might like to snag it.

She is breathtaking. I'll take it, if no one else wants it.

Isn't she beautiful? She's there for everybody, so please do grab.

I immediately thought of [livejournal.com profile] warmdarkwoman when I saw that icon. It looks as beautiful as her voice sounds. :)

And, honey? It's okay to whine (and have wine) when your face hurts. Heck, if red wine didn't make my head hurt worse, I'd join you tonight!

I immediately thought of [livejournal.com profile] warmdarkwoman and [livejournal.com profile] bethctg2.

And yeah, it's one of those sinus aches where the pain gets into your jaw and it's just ARGH. But the wine is helping (or at least making me not care as much).

It's a beautiful painting, and you've made a beautiful icon. :)

Hee -- credit El Jay Icon Maker (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/724). It's an awesome little tool that I use a lot. All I did was spot the painting.

And isn't it a beautiful painting? I actually saw it yesterday and couldn't stop thinking about it. Plz to be feeling free to grab the icon!

And thank you for sharing!

It's not very fancy, but it (El Jay Icon Maker) really is a great little utility for making quick icons on the run. I enjoy using it and it's a lot of fun to experiment with.

OH HAI WHINY NIGHTDOG.

You have every right to your whine. When my sinuses make my jaw hurt, I whine too.

Other than that, how's your evening?

Nice and quiet. Made spaghetti with country ribs for dinner and am having the last of the red wine (Coppola Rosso).

I found good pork chops on sale last night for $2/lb, so I bought a BIG package.

This afternoon it occurred to me that Mr. Kelly was out of town, so I called Kelly and said, "Hey, wanna fire up your grill? I'll bring meat!" She thought that was a vastly better idea than the bagel & cream cheese that had formerly been her planned dinner.

So we had grilled chops and she sauteed up some fresh garden veggies and life was Good.

Also I drew Indiana the Greyhound again; will post shortly.

Mmmm ... grilled pork chops. A lot of times we'll marinate ours in Italian dressing -- super simple and really tasty.

And yay for Indiana the Greyhound!

HI MARE AND NIGHTDOG HELLO!

Tonight I tackled a long-overdue finances conversation with the Mr (because I have another appointment with Bank Guy tomorrow), and we talked Retirement and Z's College Savings and Budget and stuff.

So now I'm very tempted by the mini-sized bottle of Bailey's in the cupboard. :)

Also--your dinner sounds DELISH. Mine was chicken nuggets and yellow rice, with a big salad of cukes, lettuce, and tomatoes. At least the veggies were home-grown?

HI PERSPI!

UGH, FINANCE CONVERSATIONS. HATE 'EM.

I'd be very tempted by the mini-bottle of Bailey's also. And good God, that salad sounds delicious!

I've got a hard cider - Wyder's pear - to match you with your wine. Also a sauna visit, if you'd like.

Oh my, a sauna visit sounds WONDERFUL. Sigh. I did just take an ibuprofen, though, and I can already feel the jaw-ache easing off.

[identity profile] hannahrorlove.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
The local gym has a dry sauna, and I've taken to short visits in there with a book to read. I'm hoping to build up my tolerance, although right now I'd settle for the motivation to go bake some bread.

I have no motivation for anything tonight. I did start reading the Little Bighorn book today, and was quite interested to see the slightly revisionist viewpoint the author is taking towards Custer -- i.e., not a vainglorious incompetent. Hee.

[identity profile] hannahrorlove.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I want to go to bed early, but I want to bake bread for the feeling of having done something today. I'll see if I can rustle myself into the kitchen, but I seriously doubt it. Too tired.
