PPTH, nothing - this is screaming Kingdom Hospital at me, in no small part because one of the plotlines involved a surgeon who thought he could do no wrong.

I'd suggest finding a copy of the original Kingdom ('Riget', I believe) by Lars von Trier. It's much better and scary as hell. Literally.

Riget, yes. Although to the American's version credit, Dr. Hook is something of a proto-House.

Krogen! Dr. Hook! Yes, that was his name. Did he end up zombified in the US version as well? I have a bizarre degree of love for the scene where the Swedish bloke with the faecal obsession shows up at the memorial service with a spade only to be told that Krogen had asked to be cremated. World class comedy, that.
