Dark, damp, and chilly (45 degrees). Chickadees and titmice at the feeders, along with two enormous crows on the back fence.

Watched The Truman Show and the last part of Natural Born Killers last night -- I had forgotten what a ferocious, over-the-top film the latter was. Yikes.

Year Turning

I sure hope that finding a gecko on the wall in your bedroom on New Year's Eve is a sign of good luck, because that's what happened this evening. And it wasn't one of those teeny tiny geckos, it was a big 'un, with knobbly skin and big black beady eyes. Mr. N caught it in a glass and put it outside, but not before Chango thought it was the most excellent thing ever and tried to catch it.

So. Chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes with cream gravy, a green salad, and champagne for dinner. Dessert was a couple of slices of panettone that a friend of Mr. N's gave to us. We don't usually do dessert, so it was a nice treat.

And now we're waiting. *g*
