Heh, I suspect that the bunnies around here are probably, like the squirrels, close to half-tame because of people feeding them. Plus cottontails seem to have weird counter-instincts -- a few months ago I was walking Layla late at night and one actually came toward us instead of running away. I told the little guy that was a bad idea, and it appeared to reconsider and took a different path. Layla was disappointed. :D

Gophers! I think I have only seen a gopher once -- it was on a golf course, which would mean it was in either Ohio or Michigan.

And ... wait, from Googling gophers, I think it was a woodchuck that I saw. Which are apparently also known as whistlepigs, which is a truly awesome name! *g*
