Cool and cloudy all day for a welcome change!

Almost finished with Kim Stanley Robinson's 2312 and I am SO GLAD. I loved his Mars Trilogy, and parts of this book are great, but wow I really cannot remember the last time I disliked the protagonist of a book so much. SWAN ER HONG, I'M LOOKING AT YOU UGH YOU ARE A TOTAL BRAT. I am strongly tempted to just put it down, but I'm very close to the end. :-P

How are you able to keep reading it? Is it simply about finishing what you started?

Well, I was only about fifty or so pages from the end, and I was still kind of interested in who the Bad Guys were, and then it turned out that Robinson just sort of tossed out "OH BY THE WAY, THESE WERE THE BAD GUYS AND WE GOT RID OF THEM THE END."

So I was like "Yeah, I should have just stopped reading when I was thinking about it."
