See, I've read very few African writers (I've read some J.M. Coetzee and some Nadine Gordimer, but that's about it)! So far Americanah is REALLY good.

Ha, there was a review of The Son in the NY Times, and I thought it sounded interesting so I wrote it down in my "to read" notebook. :D

Also, that link on the Globe and Mail page to John Boyko's Blood and Daring, about Canadian soldiers in the U.S. Civil War, looks absolutely fascinating. So I've written it down too.
