Sun is trying to come out after it rained all day yesterday. Watched Game Change last night and really enjoyed it, although I kept looking at Ed Harris (as John McCain) and thinking, 'Isn't he supposed to have blue eyes?' Woody Harrelson was terrific (I predict an Emmy nom), and Julianne Moore was just amazing as Palin.

Trying to write a bit, we'll see where it goes. Thinking of stealing a page from [livejournal.com profile] deelaundry's book and posting some old WiPs that will never pan out.

Also? A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] hannahrorlove! Hannah, you are awesome, and your amazing brain is such an incredibly wonderful, creative engine. I am so glad you are my friend. ♥ ♥ ♥

I thought it a terrific film too (although I raised my eyebrows at the idea that Palin didn't know who America was fighting in WWII and the suggestion that she was mentally ill because she cracked under enormous stress). I was particularly struck by the ending when they realize what they've created. Some of my co-workers were in Alaska during the presidential race and I asked them what people there were saying about Sarah Palin. They told me that they didn't mention her themselves but every time an Alaskan spoke of her it was to comment on how pretty she was. That's it.

the scene where she was talking to the women who had special-needs kids
I found that deeply touching; for the first time I understood why she was so popular.

That would be a wonderful idea. I wouldn't have wanted to miss The Watsons just because Jane Austen abandoned it.
