Bright sun but much cooler after a cold front came through yesterday. 54 degrees (12.2 degrees Celsius), a light breeze out of the east northeast.

Thought this was hilarious -- Minnesota graffiti artist protects Titian's 'Venus' from the freezing temps. Hee.

Yes, but other people do sometimes get hurt in those. And this is the Land of the Coen Brothers, you know, so one can't be too careful.

It did look like the kind of van you'd see in one of those stories. 90s era if not 80s, big, nondescript grungy maroon thing outta Detroit, with no windows in the back, and a rusty set of roof-rack bars on top. You could easily imagine it on CSI as the perp's Do Bad Things-Mobile.

They use carpet remnants on the floor in there. Take 'em out when they're dirty, throw 'em out in the woods somewhere, bring the van home and hose out the back.

I'm creeping myself out now.

Best part is, they get the remnants free. One of the guys works at one of those carpet-outlet places, he takes a bunch of the smaller odd-lots they can't sell, pieces 'em together. One of the other guys calls it their "crazy quilts."
