Sunny and just a bit warmer at 57 degrees (13.9 Celsius). Humidity has dropped considerably so it's nice and crisp out. Refilled the birds' water dish yesterday; Chango helped A LOT.

Up late last night watching one of the best college games I've seen all year -- Nevada beating Boise State in overtime, after the Broncos' kicker missed two field goals, one from 26 yards that could have won it in regulation and another from 29 yards that could've won it in overtime. Oh man ... either one of those should have been gimmes, and he missed both of them. Yikes.

What else? Knocked a bottle of balsamic vinegar onto the floor last evening, where it pretty much exploded. Kitchen was instantly suffused with its unique sweet-sour scent, and I spent about 20 minutes on the floor with about 200 paper towels (and then the Swiffer) cleaning it up. Oy.

All I've got for now. :-)

Two hundred paper towels sounds about right. :) On the plus side, your kitchen is probably completely germ-free after all that vinegar.

We've been out running errands this morning: grocery store, post office, pharmacy, Tractor Supply for cat food. We had to go up to buying the 18 pound bags because the cats were going through the five pounders at an alarming rate. I'm hoping their eating settles down when Oliver finally regains all that was starved off him. :D

Hee, I hadn't thought about the antiseptic aspect, but you're right. I believe the ancient Romans used vinegar for that purpose also. *g* What surprised me was that it didn't immediately stain the linoleum brown.

We have done NOTHING this morning. Of course, we now need a new bottle of balsamic vinegar, so Mr. N may go to the store later and also pick up shirts.

Hello! It's snowing here. I need to go to the video store to return a movie but otherwise my place is here, packing and stuff.
I think the Grey Cup is this weekend, it's Canada's equivalent of the Super Bowl. (looks it up) Yes, it's Sunday. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are playing the Montreal Alouettes. "Alouettes" is French for "doves" which is a peculiar name for a football team. My co-workers are Roughriders fans so I should keep track of who wins so I'll know what mood they'll be in on Monday.

I didn't know that alouette was French for dove! Well, that makes sense with the song. *g*

Japanese sports teams had some odd names -- like the Hiroshima Carp (baseball) and the Kashima Antlers (soccer). I seem to remember watching some Japanese ice hockey and the team was called the Bunnies. Ah, this may have been them.

Huh. I always thought alouette meant lark. At least I knew it was a small bird.

Well, your kitchen is now sparkly-clean with all that vinegar splashed about! (I also like how balsamic vinegar smells, so I wouldn't mind any lingering odor. Cleaning up the glass and the splatters would be an ordeal, though.

Heh, one of my (suede) slippers that I was wearing at the time got a little splash on it, so now I have a permanently-balsamic-scented piece of footwear. There wasn't a lot of glass -- the bottle was pretty much intact. It was the bottom that shattered, dumping the vinegar mostly in one spot. Must've hit the floor at exactly the right angle to just cause the bottom to shear off.
