Thursday, with Icons

Sunny and steamy. 88 degrees (31.1 Celsius), feels as if it's 97. Which is very true, because I was just out in the backyard refilling the spare feeder for the squirrels bigger birds. The burst of dove feathers was still there; Chango sniffed at them but took no further interest. Alarm went off at 4:30 so Mr. N could make his 7 a.m. flight to Miami -- I tossed and turned for a while and then fell into a long, complicated dream that ended with Wilson lying to a butcher behind a meat counter at a grocery store and thinking to himself that he was becoming just like House. And no, I have no idea what he was lying about. WTF, dream?

Was messing around with Photobucket yesterday and made a few icons -- they're under the cut if anyone would like one. I don't claim any of them are any good, but I thought I'd share. *g* Sources are referenced and all are work-safe. None are fandom-related.

Art Deco
This is something called an "Art Deco topper." It's a sidebar graphic from The Errant Aesthete.

Snowy Brooklyn Bridge
Brooklyn Bridge in snow; photo by Michael Magill from The Errant Aesthete.

Photobucket
Also from The Errant Aesthete, the mouseover just says this is "Chez_Mondrian.sc."

Art of Kissing
This is from A Journey Round my Skull, which always has a lot of strange stuff.

And finally ...

Photobucket
Matisse's goldfish, swimming forever in a clear glass tankard. From a Google Search image, here.

So. Nothing else at the moment.

Swank is an excellent word!

And definitely YAY for climate-controlled rooms. :-D

That the books around me are worth a few million dollars at the very outset sometimes makes me imagine heist capers, which also helps the days go by.

Capers do have a way of doing that, don't they?

At Con.txt someone suggested a "take your fandom to work" challenge, and I don't have any trouble imagining Parker breaking in here and taking a few minutes to read the vintage picture books.

As to why the team needs to break into a library, I'm not certain - probably something with forgeries, reputations, all that jazz - and now I realize I could use a Parker icon.
