Thursday, with Icons
Sunny and steamy. 88 degrees (31.1 Celsius), feels as if it's 97. Which is very true, because I was just out in the backyard refilling the spare feeder for the squirrels bigger birds. The burst of dove feathers was still there; Chango sniffed at them but took no further interest. Alarm went off at 4:30 so Mr. N could make his 7 a.m. flight to Miami -- I tossed and turned for a while and then fell into a long, complicated dream that ended with Wilson lying to a butcher behind a meat counter at a grocery store and thinking to himself that he was becoming just like House. And no, I have no idea what he was lying about. WTF, dream?
Was messing around with Photobucket yesterday and made a few icons -- they're under the cut if anyone would like one. I don't claim any of them are any good, but I thought I'd share. *g* Sources are referenced and all are work-safe. None are fandom-related.

This is something called an "Art Deco topper." It's a sidebar graphic from The Errant Aesthete.

Also from The Errant Aesthete, the mouseover just says this is "Chez_Mondrian.sc."

This is from A Journey Round my Skull, which always has a lot of strange stuff.
And finally ...

Matisse's goldfish, swimming forever in a clear glass tankard. From a Google Search image, here.
So. Nothing else at the moment.

I've got a House marathon on USA (with the constant warning scrolling across the top of the screen, telling me I'm not ready for Comcast's digital transition and need new equipment to avoid service interruptions). Have been cleaning up a bit, and have figured out a schedule for the next small mural gig, and emailed the client.
Two in one month? Is this a sign of actual economic recovery?
Need to get to the bank and then have the oil changed in my truck.
Also: I clearly need MOAR COFFEE because I completely forgot to tell you that I really, really like your icons. They have this quiet, contemplative quality (well, most of them do) that's very Nightdoggy. :-)

Heh. I don't know, and the big-name economists who might know keep changing their minds.
A House marathon! I'll have to check that out ...
And yeah, periodically I get tired of almost all my icons and want to change them out. *g*

Art Center the First helped me out, gave me a check for half my instructor fees yesterday; I'd better get that into the bank. Don't wanna go out into the glare, so I've been putting it off.
Yeah, I should probably switch out a few icons myself. Change can be good.
I find myself wanting to write something that'll make you bust out your Typing Devil icon again, though. Heh.

I'm at the office, rounding up people to go in on my 5-lbs-of-blueberries order from the CSA, and getting myself set to do some real work this afternoon. I'm almost done with my sandwich, and then it will really take off! Or something. :)

Heh. We've got some Mississippi blueberries in the fridge -- they're good, but not nearly as sweet as the North Carolina berries we had before.

But! It's $18 for 5 lbs, which is really a good price for organic blueberries, considering that I sometimes pay $2 a pint at the store. And that's when they're in season! These berries are coming from Michigan and will probably be picked on Saturday or Sunday, to be delivered to me Tuesday. SWEET.
I now have 3.5 pounds spoken for, so 1.5 pounds is a lot less intimidating. But still, I may have to make a blueberry cobbler, or something. :)

Well, the next job is now officially scheduled; I'll be putting in three days on it, toward the end of the month. That'll take a lot of financial pressure off.
Wish I could go in on those blueberries. Mmmmm.
Go you and Real Work!

I've already got several cups of blueberries frozen from when they first started coming on sale in the grocery store, but I'm afraid I cannot resist this blueberry offer! I may have to make a pie.
Yeah, the Real Work hasn't quite started yet. *sheepish*

While cheesecake is my ultimate favorite. I especially like it with blueberries. It's followed closely by organic blueberry cobbler or pie. *whimpers for some*

There's still nothing happening here with jobs. St. P's got the annual extortion letter from the diocese the other day, which began with a cheery "now that the economic crisis has passed..." The Padre read it to me and I said, "Passed, my butt!" He replied, "Thank you for saying that."
