Thursday

52 degrees and very damp. One of our Christmas cacti (we have two, a large red one and a small white one) has decided to bloom. The big red one bloomed in early December (and is still flowering) and now the little white one's blooms are opening.

Have also been watching coverage of the Haiti Quake this morning, especially the stunning footage from the flyover of the capital, Port-au-Prince. We've donated to Doctors Without Borders, and I understand that fandom is also playing a part with [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti. A fascinating CNET article on giving and avoiding scams is here, for those who are interested, and Charity Navigator has put together a list of organizations who are doing good work for Haitian recovery here.

Oh, honey, I would forget my own head if it wasn't attached. I ran off without Dragonflypony's drawing. So I have the mat, and the mailing envelope, and the archival tape for fastening the drawing in place in the mat, and everything I need except, you know, the drawing itself.

*facepalm*

But in other ways I'm being productive. Answering pet portrait inquiries; scheduling classes at BAC; I picked up the small pear paintings from Dawn the Designer and I have now varnished those so I can take them to Nicole the Art Dealer. And have emailed Nicole about dropping by next week.

Now. I need lunch and I need to start on Rio the Dog. Sorry I'm babbling at you; just trying to get my thoughts into some kind of order.

Heh, you're welcome to babble at me anytime. I was thinking about running a couple of errands but I think I'm going to save them for tomorrow.
