Thursday

More rain, cool and breezy. So I guess more housely stuff today, and maybe spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.

Here's a couple of cool things ... a gigantic, hand-knit pink rabbit in the Italian Alps. For real. This thing is huge, and it looks exactly like some gargantuan toddler just tossed it down five minutes ago. It took a group of four artists five years to knit. Amazing.

And, under the cut ...

Bunny Wave

From here, where there is also an awesome poster of bunnies as Japanese cherry blossoms.

Bunnies!

I made fried green tomatoes for lunch, and coming from a childhood where I never ate fast food, something made with both oil and butter sits heavy in my stomach. Tasty, though. The cayenne pepper really made it pop.

Heh -- fast food was like an OMG TREAT! when I was a kid. There were no McDonalds anywhere near us (they may not even have been in Dallas then) -- the closest hamburger place was called Griff's, and it was across the street from the tiny neighborhood branch library my dad took me to every Saturday morning. Their burgers were thin little things on toasted buns, heavy on the pickles, grilled onions, and yellow mustard. *g*

It took me a long time to learn there was a McDonalds in my town; I've eaten at that franchise twice that I can remember. I like the fries at In-N-Out, but I only get those when I'm in California, so there's not much temptation there.

Grilled onions with mustard...I could see that working if the meat's cooked right.

OMG BUNNIES!

I'm off to LA to go college hunting, but will return on Saturday. I shall miss you dearly.

BUNNY! ZOMG HOW ADORABLE!!!!

Hee. LA is awesome! If you get the chance, take a couple of hours to spend at LACMA (http://www.lacma.org/home.aspx). It's just wonderful.

I'm assuming you mean Los Angeles and not Louisiana. *g*

It's cool and spitting rain here. I bought fabric for curtains for my office and the Padre's and will make those this weekend. His are a sedate green check, but mine are a riot of purple flowers. :D

The sun is trying to come out here, but I can see more showers on the way on radar. Titmice and chickadees are enjoying the refilled feeders, and there's a big mourning dove just sitting on the big feeder, chowing down. Hee.

And I think a RIOT OF PURPLE FLOWERS is perfect for you. *g*

[identity profile] pwcorgigirl.livejournal.com 2009-09-17 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I was sorely tempted by some red fabric with gold squiggles on it, but the purple flowers do work better with the established decor. Must not upset the ladies' group. :)

I spent the morning scraping paint and tape off windows in two of the rooms and painting a tabletop. My big goal is to have the place all fixed up by October.

Clearly the world needs a giant knitted bunny. *nods* TRUFAX.

And also more than a little disturbing as well as incredibly cool *g*

Hee! It does look as if it could be from a Twilight Zone episode! A race of giants, leaving their toys everywhere!

That'd also explain Stonehenge, come to think of it.

From the description ... yeah, I think so.

Someday, the remains of the Giant Pink Rabbit will be found, and our distant descendants will be certain it served a function in some bizarre primitive religious ceremony.

And God will laugh.

Ah, I revel in my own evilosity!!!!!!

... oh, wait.

[identity profile] blackmare-9.livejournal.com 2009-09-18 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
And you use way too many exclamation points!!!!!!

It can't be helped. Evilosity revelry calls for a minimum number of exclamation points.

It's in the Evilosity Handbook.

[identity profile] blackmare-9.livejournal.com 2009-09-18 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, the Evilosity Handbook. The only trouble with that tome is that it's difficult to obtain, given that it cannot be borrowed or bought, but only stolen.

My own copy disappeared ... just under 3 years ago now. Right around the time I wrote my first House story and met ... you.

Now what a coincidence.

I found a giant rubber ducky (<http://www.florentijnhofman.nl/dev/project.php?id=104) this morning(By Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman (<http://www.florentijnhofman.nl/dev/projects.php))while on my mid-morning de-stress break. He has a lot giant projects. What's the opposite of miniaturize? Gigantisize? Bigify?

Thought you might like it :D
