We know from various spoilers that House is going to either have a breakdown by the end of the season or be driven close to a breakdown, by more than one mental and/or physical blow.

I said to Mr. N tonight ... maybe TPTB are retelling the story of Job, with House as a sort of anti-Job (since he's an atheist), but with enough vicious twists to make even House say, "Why is all this happening to me?"

We already know there's going to be a suicide that no one sees coming -- if there are going to be multiple blows then obviously multiple Bad Things have to happen. I'm positing (besides the suicide):

Wilson's brother either kills himself or decides the meds are making him stupid, goes off them and runs away again.

Cuddy either loses her job for some reason, or loses her baby (SIDS).

Whoever the "team survivor" is (Kutner or Taub) feels horribly guilty and goes to House, who doesn't know how to handle it, or goes to House and basically accuses him of causing the other's death.

House's apartment burns down. Hey, it's in the Bible. *g*

You know what I'd love to see? Wilson as the Devil. Heh.

I do agree with you, though, that they seriously mis-stepped by trying to have it both ways--getting rid of the Original Flavor Fellows and bringing in a new crew. It irked me considerably.
