Hot again, although at least there are no more 108 - 110 degree days in the forecast. In the meantime, here's an update on My Surreal Life, by which I mean medical stuff ...  )

Got out today and went to Lowe's, picked up some nice glazed pots so I can repot a few of the plants in the kitchen bay window -- African violets, a Baby Rubber Plant, and a baby arbequina olive tree I ordered some months ago from Logees. Also gotta refill the bird feeder tomorrow -- apparently we have two or three families of house finches close by, and they've been visiting every day.

Hope everyone's having a good Wednesday night. One of my favorite shows is back (Law & Order: UK), and that makes me happy.

In the headline because it is true. Seriously. Thank you all for your good wishes and kind words, and just ... everything. It helped so much, I can't even say.

Something I did want to say, though, is that this journal is not going to become a medical diary or a treatment chart or an angsty ride on the black unicorn of Ragnarök. I'll continue to talk about what's going on (sometimes) and how I feel about it (on occasion), but it will always be behind a cut.

Like this ...  )

Made a loaf of pumpkin bread yesterday; the recipe is here. It turned out great -- I used 3/4 of a cup of sugar and Mr. N wanted to toss in some raisins, and it was really good.

Heat continues here. So far we've had 20 consecutive days of temps 100+, with no end in sight. Also I have not forgotten any of my ficly stuff -- I'm hoping to get back to that once things are a bit more settled.

Hope everyone is doing all right this Friday. :-D

So. This is the post where I explain WTF is going on. *g* If reading about someone's health is not what you want to do, then please don't feel obligated to go any further and don't feel guilty about it. There's no way I'm going to judge anyone for something I wouldn't want to do myself.

Otherwise ...  )

As for the chicken ... it is the journey, not the destination. It's what we make of it along the way that counts.
